7 Simple Ways to Decorate the Kitchen for Christmas
Earlier this year we updated our kitchen (you can read about it here). So I was really excited to decorate it for Christmas! It was the first place I started decorating for Christmas in the house. The kitchen is the heart of the home, so it is naturally a place you want to have feeling cozy and festive for the holidays! Here are 7 simple ways to decorate your kitchen for Christmas.

1. Garland on the Window
I love this look so much! Fresh garland would be amazing, but I went with my favorite faux garland. (It is from Hobby Lobby. Currently unavailable online, but may be in store!)
We just put three long skinny screws spread out across the top of the window. We put them in diagonally into the crevice where the trim meets the wall. That way when Christmas is over and the screws are removed, the holes will be hidden.
I had to use wire cutters to cut an end piece off and turn it around so that both ends fell in the same way. I also filled in any empty looking spots with more smaller pieces, using floral wire to help attach things together where needed. I hardly needed any though, instead I mostly just wedged them into eachother.
To add lights, I used fairy lights with green wire (to camouflage against the green garland) and hid the battery box behind the garland, resting it on top of the window frame. These lights are great because they have an automatic timer that you set to the time you want it to go on. It then turns off by itself after 5 hours.
2. Christmas Dish Towels
Dish towels are a fun and practical way to add a little Christmas to the kitchen. It can be as simple as this “Merry” towel or a green plaid towel.
They look cute hung on the stove or just resting on a counter.
You can also open one up and use it on the table as part of a centerpiece.

3. Christmas Shelf Styling
If you have open shelving in your kitchen, you have a lot of opportunity to add in some Christmas. One of my favorites is bottle brush trees!
I also love these deer and snowmen. Simple Christmas touches!
Tip: Use a cutting board to group some snowmen or other Christmas decor objects.

4. Wreath on or under the Hood
I love to hang a little wreath under the hood. I have a command hook hidden there to hang it from a ribbon.

5. Christmas Centerpiece
Adding a centerpiece to the table is a simple way to decorate the kitchen for Christmas. Something with candles is so cozy and festive. These are real candles, but I also love using remote control candles!
Last year I used a tray and some trees as a centerpiece. Trays are a great place to start when creating one.
6. Christmas Trees on the Counter
Probably the simplest way to decorate for Christmas in the kitchen as to add some Christmas trees on the counter.
This one lights up, so fun!
7. Pine Stars Hanging in the Window
These stars are so easy to make and are so cute hanging in the window. You can read how to make your own here: https://lizzydesignsblog.com/how-to-make-hanging-pine-branch-christmas-stars/
