3 Ways to Create a Fall Centerpiece with a Dough Bowl
A dough bowl is the perfect piece to start with when creating a centerpiece. The possibilities are endless, and they’re so fun to change out for the seasons! (You can find out how to style one for spring and Easter here.) It is now time to create one for fall. A beautiful fall centerpiece will be especially perfect to have on the table for Thanksgiving dinner. Here are three ways to create a fall centerpiece with a dough bowl.

Start with your Favorite Dough Bowl
The dough bowl I used in the photos was purchased at Hobby Lobby and is currently unavailable online. Here are some of my other favorites that I found! Tap on any of the photos to shop.
Here are 3 Ways to Create a Fall Centerpiece with a Dough Bowl:
1. Amber Glass Vases/Jars and Wheat Stems in a Dough Bowl
Amber glass is one of my favorite things to decorate with for fall. It’s so subtle and pretty! I found these in the Target Dollar Spot (not available online), but here are some links to some others as well as to some wheat stems to create this look.
Shop for amber glass here and here.
2. Candles and Acorns in a Dough Bowl
Candles, tapered or pillar, are great in a dough bowl surrounded by some sort of filler. In the spring I used bright green fluffy moss (check it out here). For the fall I have these acorns. I had a collection of acorns already, but I needed a little more to fill the bowl. These acorns from Amazon are great, cute and realistic looking. I also used 10 inch tapered candles.
To create this look, I needed a base to put the candles in. I used a block of styrofoam. To put the candles in, I first twisted them in as far as I could. Then to get them in farther to be good and secure, I took a blade and carefully made an “x” in the holes. This allowed the candles to be twisted down even further. You may need to repeat the process another time. Keep going until the candles are good and secure. (Warning: Make sure the candles are secure before lighting, and never leave burning candles unattended.)

To help the bowl look extra full, I placed some paper under the acorns where the styrofoam ended.

Here is this look using pillar candles.
3. Pumpkins in a Row in a Dough Bowl
I love the simplicity of this look, and the colors add a little whimsy. These yarn pumpkins are from the Target Dollar Spot and not available online. However, there are lots of decorative pumpkins out there, and real ones would also look great!
