How to Replace an Ugly Door Chime
The Before
There’s an ugly doorbell chime solution! It was one of those things that you just kind of forgot was there, but every time you looked at it you pretty much hated it. That ugly plastic door chime hanging on the wall. One of the first things that people saw when they entered the house. It was ugly, plastic and not even centered on the wall! One day we finally got around to updating the entire entryway. I was so excited when I found an ugly doorbell chime solution! It was finally time to say goodbye to it for good. Here’s how to replace an ugly door chime.

First I just looked for a new chime to replace it with. Nothing really looked good to me, plus there was also the fact that it was not centered. I really kept thinking I’d love to just get rid of it completely. I considered having no doorbell and just having people knock.
The Door Chime Solution!
Then I came across the WIRELESS DOORBELL. I didn’t even know something like this existed! I may sound a little dramatic, but it was pretty life changing lol! It meant we could take the door chime down completely and use this wireless doorbell instead. And the whole set is only $25.
So down it came! The chime was disconnected and tossed, and the hole was patched up. (If you are unsure how to work with wiring such as this, I would recommend hiring a professional for the removal.)
The After
What a difference!
The doorbell outside was removed and replaced with this one (all part of the set). Ours was screwed in, but it could be attached with the adhesive patch that it comes with, if you choose. Very easy!
The actual chime? You just PLUG IT IN. The set comes with two, and so we have one on two floors. You can plug them in anywhere you’d like. They also have 52 different chimes/sounds/melodies to choose from which is fun!
Now the entryway wall, the first thing people see when walking in the front door, could really be a focal point. I decided to do this fun stencil pattern on it, and I updated the table and went with a larger mirror. Now I was able to hang a larger mirror and even a welcome sign without worrying about a chime being in the way. I love how it turned out, and I don’t miss that ugly door chime at all!

Much better! I have a weird wooden doorbell chime, but I’m liking this idea of a wireless one.
