How to Hang a Hook Rack in the Kitchen (Without Holes in the Backsplash Tile!)
I wanted to hang something above my stove, but I really didn’t want to put holes into the tiles. Command strips were the perfect solution. With them you don’t have to worry about changing your mind, wanting to hang something different down the road or needing to change the placement of what you hang. I loved the look of a hook rack, especially a brass one to match my faucet and hardware, and was hoping I could hang one using Command strips. It worked! Here is how to hang a hook rack in the kitchen (without holes in the tile!).

The Hook Rack/Rail and Hooks
I found this one online at Ikea for under $10! This was perfect to to be able to gamble on it working out with my Command strip “experiment,” plus I really actually loved the look of it!
You can buy this here. You can also get it on Amazon here.
Ikea has a set of hooks that go with it, but I preferred S hooks which were also under $10!
As you can see, these come in different colors as well. Here are some links to similar ones. Keep in mind they come in different sizes, so make sure you measure ahead of time.
How to Hang the Hook Rack with Command Strips
Here is the type of Command Strips that I used. They hold up to 16 pounds which is something you have to make sure you don’t overlook. Also remember that when choosing what to hang on it later. Rest assured, there are lots of things you can hang from it that won’t go over that weight!
1. As you can see, it is bigger than the bracket. I chose to trim it with scissors after attaching it. First thing is to fold a pair in half, velcro side in, exposing the labels on the outside.
2. Peel off the backing on one side and stick it carefully to the back of the bracket.
3. Trim the excess off and repeat on the other bracket.
4. As per the instructions on the package, lastly you peel off the remaining backing and place it where you’d like it (on a clean surface) holding it down firmly for 30 seconds.
5, Add your hooks, and you’re ready to style them!
What to Hang on Kitchen Hooks
This is the fun part! You can go with all decorative items or hang things that you actually will be using in the kitchen.
TIP: Keep in mind how far down you want the items to hang to be visually appealing. Make sure you check measurements of items before purchasing.
I chose to do a mixture of functional items that we’ll actually use and more decorative.

Updated Look (2024)
Since this post was written, we got a new oven. This oven doesn’t have a back part that goes up the wall like our previous one did. I still kept the hook rack, because I just love it and it is still holding strong! But now I can hang larger/longer items from it. This is what it looks like now.

It’s from H&M, but it looks like it’s out of stock. You can hit the “notify me” button though! Hopefully it’ll come back soon 🙂 Here’s the link https://rstyle.me/+lY6kvEDOJahWK_0aaeyWSQ
