How to Make a Natural Valentine Centerpiece with Moss Hearts
This Valentine centerpiece came about when I wanted to change out my Christmas centerpiece that I had on the table using a long tray (you can see 3 ways to make a centerpiece with a long tray for Christmas here). I found some planters at Walmart for around $6.50 each that worked perfectly. Four of them filled the tray just right, and then I could add some pink flowers perhaps for Valentine’s Day! To add a more special touch for Valentine’s Day, I added moss hearts to each one. I love the subtle and natural look! Here is how to make this natural Valentine centerpiece.

Items Needed to Make This Natural Valentine Centerpiece
- A long tray, I used this one from Hearth and Hand at Target
2. Several planters/flower pots, I used 4 of these from Walmart
3. Peel and Stick Moss to create the hearts
4. Scissors
5. Some cardboard to make a heart template
6. Flowers to put into the pots
How to Make This Natural Valentine Centerpiece
To make the moss hearts, you first need to make a template out of cardboard to use as a guide. (Another way would be to trace hearts on the back of the sheets of moss.) Then simply cut out your hearts,
This peel and stick moss is an amazing product! There are endless possibilities that it could be used for. To have adhesive on the back makes projects like this so easy!
Once your hearts are cut out, simply peel off the backing and stick them onto the pots. If you need to adjust them after sticking them on you can, but they might need a little glue to help them stick a second time. Otherwise they stay put well!
Add your flowers and you have a natural Valentine centerpiece that is subtle and beautiful!
