9 Ways to Give a Gift Card for Christmas

A gift card is the perfect gift to give someone, we all love getting them! You get to pick out exactly what you want, and when you don’t know what to get someone it’s a great solution. However, you don’t just want to hand someone a gift card. That can seem boring and impersonal. Without spending too much extra money on top of the gift card, you can present a gift card in fun and thoughtful ways. Here are 9 ways to give a gift card for Christmas.

For all of these gifts except the first one that is larger, I used the following cellophane gift bags. They’re the perfect size!

9 Ways to Give a Gift Card for Christmas:

1. Add a Gift Card to a Plant

I purchased this rosemary mini Christmas tree at a local grocery store. To add the gift card, I taped it on a wooden skewer and stuck it into the dirt. Then I wrapped it up in a cellophane bag.

For this gift, I used a larger cellophane bag, 22×25 inches.

2. Place a Gift Card in a Frame

Use tape or fun tak to stick the gift card on the insert inside of the frame.

3. Put a Gift Card in a Letter Mug

You can obviously use any mug, but a letter mug adds a real personal touch! I added some paper shred in the mug first. I found these cute star embellishments at Hobby Lobby (not available online). You can add confetti or candy as well!

4. Place a Gift Card on a Journal

You may want to use tape or fun tak to keep the gift card really in place. Adding a little ornament like these bells is a fun extra touch!

5. Put a Gift Card on a Stack of Coasters

These star marble coasters are extra cute for Christmas. I love them!

6. Put a Gift Card on a Trivet with Dishtowels

Use tape or fun tak to attach the gift card to the trivet. You could also use a small cutting board or decorative item.

7. Give a Gift Card with Chocolates

Simply tape or fun tak the gift card to the bag of chocolates and add a little ornament or some star embellishments and paper shreds!

8. Place the Gift Card in a Cute Glass Jar

I found this particular tree shaped jar in the Target Dollar Spot. You can use any cute jar that would fit a gift card. Add some paper shreds or candy with it and an ornament on top for a final touch!
